There are approximately 2.64 billion Christians around the world, making Christianity the largest religion globally. At its core, Christianity is centered on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, who is believed to be God in human form. This foundational belief is supported by John 1:14, which states: “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.”
For those unfamiliar, God took on human form to reveal the glory of His nature to humanity, to fulfill prophecy through the law, and to offer a path to salvation. His incarnation allowed Him to empathize with human suffering and provide a perfect example of how to live a Christ-like life. Ultimately, it was a step toward bridging the gap between God and humanity, enabling us to form a personal relationship with Him.
In the United States, the percentage of people identifying as Christian has remained relatively stable in recent years, ranging between 60–64%, despite a notable decline around 2014. While Christianity may not be growing rapidly in the U.S., it is by no means disappearing—and globally, its influence is actually expanding.
Christianity is becoming increasingly relevant, especially in Africa and Asia. In fact, projections estimate that by 2050, the global Christian population could reach 3 billion. Notably, Sub-Saharan Africa has now surpassed Europe in the number of Christians, with the faith growing in Africa at a rate of 2.64% annually.
More and more people are coming to know God, and I find that incredibly beautiful. Despite the challenges and divisions we face in America today, I believe that if we come together in faith, we can make powerful progress—both in this nation and around the world.
Be pro-God. Be pro-Christianity.
